Lois Vilariño

Bilbao 1965

After spending all my childhood in Bilbao, in 1981 I moved to Melide (A Coruña), a village on the Camino de Santiago pilgrims’ way. It was there that I started out, in the late eighties, in the world of jewellery, in a small craft workshop.

In 1992 I moved to Barcelona and began working with the Joiells firm, where I was designer from 2001 to 2011. From 1994 to 1998 I studied Jewellery at Barcelona Provincial Council's School of Arts and Crafts (Escola Industrial).

In 2000 I began to combine my work for Joiells with a studio of my own, creating designer jewellery, and forged close links with the Noroeste gallery in Santiago de Compostela.

In 2011 I first conceived this project called DOA, which finally came to fruition in October 2012.
